Abstract
Hypertrophic pulmonary osteoarthropathy is a relatively common syndrome of marked diagnostic significance yet infrequently recognized. It is important in that is often an early manifestation of occult disease, frequently a malignancy, still in a curable stage. Acromegaly, myxedema, Paget¢¥s disease and rheumatoid arthritis; yet the distinction is usually clear once the diagnosis is considered. The disease was first described in 1890 by Marie, and also by Bamberger in 1891. A case of hypertrophic pulmo-nary osteoarthropathy in a 60 yrs old male with a brief review of this literature was presented.
